The coral
reef The sun under the sea, mysterious aurora,
illuminates the forest of deep-sea corals
that mixes, at the depths of its warm pools,
the beast blooms and the living flora.
And everything that salt or iodine colors,
Moss, hairy seaweed, anemones, sea urchins,
Covers with dark purple, in sumptuous designs,
The worm-eaten background of the pale madrepore.
From its splendid scale extinguishing the enamels,
a great fish sails through the branches;
In the transparent shadow indolement it prowls around;
And, suddenly, suddenly, from its burning
fin It makes, by the dull crystal, motionless and blue,
